Mines – You Choose How Dangerous the Grid Is
Mines is played on a 5×5 grid containing hidden gems and hidden mines. You decide how many mines are buried before the round starts, reveal tiles one at a time, and cash out whenever you decide the accumulated multiplier is worth more than the next click.
What Mines is
Twenty-five tiles. Some hide gems, some hide mines, and you set the ratio yourself. Each gem you reveal raises your current payout multiplier. Each click is an independent risk based on how many safe tiles remain. Hit a mine and the round ends with nothing.
Mines is the clearest demonstration on Crash Arcade of the relationship between risk and reward, because you configure that relationship by hand before every round.
How to play Mines
- Choose the number of mines. More mines means fewer safe tiles and a steeper multiplier per gem.
- Select your bet amount. ₹5 to ₹10,000 per round.
- Tap BET. The grid is generated and bound to the round's random stream.
- Reveal tiles one at a time. Every gem raises the multiplier shown on screen.
- Cash out whenever you are ready. The round ends and pays at the current multiplier.
More mines, more risk
Selecting more mines reduces the number of safe tiles. The risk becomes higher, but successful selections provide larger multipliers. The maths is straightforward: with 3 mines there are 22 safe tiles out of 25, so the first click is safe about 88% of the time. With 15 mines there are 10 safe tiles, so the first click is safe about 40% of the time — and the multiplier reflects that.
| Mines | Safe tiles | Chance the first tile is safe | Multiplier growth per gem |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 24 of 25 | 96% | Very slow |
| 3 | 22 of 25 | 88% | Slow |
| 5 | 20 of 25 | 80% | Moderate |
| 10 | 15 of 25 | 60% | Steep |
| 15 | 10 of 25 | 40% | Very steep |
| 24 | 1 of 25 | 4% | Extreme — one click decides the round |
Win probabilities above are the raw grid maths. Actual multipliers include the house edge, which is why the game returns less than the fair odds over the long run. The live paytable is on the game's ? help screen.
Why the second click is not the same as the first
Each successful reveal changes the board. If you started with 5 mines and have revealed 4 gems, there are 21 tiles left of which 5 are mines — so your next click is safe about 76% of the time, down from 80%. The grid gets more dangerous as you clear it, which is exactly why the multiplier accelerates.
The accumulated multiplier is not protection
Nothing carries over between rounds and nothing about a good run makes the next tile safer. A round that has gone well simply means you now have more to lose by continuing.
Mines RTP and strategy notes
The indicative RTP is around 97%. Because you set the mine count and the number of tiles you reveal, Mines has no single volatility profile — it has whichever one you configured. A three-mine, three-gem round is a low-variance game. A fifteen-mine, eight-gem round is not.
What no configuration changes is the house edge. Picking a "lucky" tile order, avoiding corners, or following a pattern does not alter the probabilities, because the mine positions were determined by the provably fair stream before your first click.

Provably fair results
The outcome of every round is generated on the Crash Arcade server using a provably fair random system built from a server seed, a client seed, a nonce and HMAC-SHA256. Your bet is bound to that random stream before the result is calculated, so a completed bet cannot simply be rewritten afterwards.
The animation you see on screen represents the result. It does not independently decide it, and nothing you do to the animation changes what the server already determined. Read the full provably fair explanation.
